Police took under control briefly television journalist Bishodip Lamichhane in Kathmandu on August 17.
According to the information Freedom Forum received, Nepal Police arrested him from a restaurant for interrogation.
However, journalist Lamichhane shared that he was arrested from his own residence without any prior notice or information. He has also asked Nepal Police to disclose the reason for his arrest through twitter.
Meanwhile, Deputy Superintendent of Police informed FF that Lamichhane was arrested following a complaint by one of the locals for making noise at a cafe. He was released later.
Lamichhane, however, maintained that he was held for taking a picture of a police van.
He is a social media activist and campaigner for good governance.
Freedom Forum draws attention of the concerned authority for taking him under control without warrant.
