A group of miscreants obstructed journalists of Tinau FM, burnt copies of Mechikali newspapers and vandalized its office building in Butwal-major city in the western region of Nepal- on February 10. The hooligans forcibly entered into the FM station and obstructed news reader Tejendra KC while he was preparing news bulletin at around 9 AM this morning.
“Owing to news dissemination about police registering public case against some miscreants for vandalizing mobile shop in Butwal, the group obstructed news broadcast, threatened and misbehaved our staffs at-work in morning shift”, said Ramesh
Freedom Forum deplores the incident of obstruction and arson carried out in media houses and asks the local administration to bring the miscreants to book. “It is an assault on press freedom which has blocked free flow of information to people”, said Freedom Forum.
