As per information received by Freedom Forum's monitoring team, actress Adhikari threatened journalist Rijal over the content's feedback received from YouTube viewers. Feedback was on the YouTube content that was all about the interview of former Minister for Health and Population and popular leader of Nepali Congress Gagan Thapa and his wife.
This YouTube content was uploaded in CanadaNepal.com 10 months ago.
Freedom Forum condemns the incident as journalist Rijal had produced the YouTube content within the boundary of journalistic ethics. It is the violation of press freedom which is against the notion of free reporting. Instead of seeking legal ways to file complaints against the content, threatening journalist is condemnable.
Hence, FF urges the concerned authority to take action and ensure a fear-free atmosphere for journalists.
