Madan Limbu identifying himself to be the co-commander of Federal Limbuwan State Council (FLSC), Ilam chapter threatened Kokila Dahakal, women scribe working for Rajdhani National Daily in eastern district Ilam of abduction due to her work on January 18, Sunday.Limbu issued threats to journalist Dhala over telephone for writing news. She is also the correspondent of Kanchanjunga FM in Jhapa.
Freedom Forum expresses its serious concern over the rising threats and harassment to women journalists in various parts of the country over past few weeks and urges concerned authority to come up with special security plan to stop crime against journalists. The attack on press is the heinous crime against freedom of expression and democracy and all the stakeholders should be cautious towards guaranteeing personal and professional security to journalists and protecting free and professional press, said Freedom Forum Chairperson Taranath Dahal.
