Reporter at Jayprithvi FM Karna Dhami was attacked while working in the office on June 3. The incident took place in Bajhang, Sudurpaschim Province.
According to reporter Dhami, a drunk local Khadak Bohara came to the media house requesting Dhami to broadcast a condolence message of his relative.
"As the message was incomplete, I asked Bohara to bring the complete message. Thereafter, he started to abuse and attack me. I received minor injury on hand", Dhami said.
Few hours later police arrested Bohara.
Freedom Forum condemns the attack. Attacking a media person inside media house is sheer insult of media and free press rights. FF urges the security authority to address the case fairly and ensure jouranalsits' safety in future.
