Shankar Acharya, a correspondent for Kantipur National Daily in Parsa district, received death threat from the cadres of All Nepal National Free Student Union (ANNFSU) associated to Communist Party of Nepal-United Marxist Leninist (CPN-UML) on May 13, Wednesday.
Following the news coverage on the heading of padlocking Harikhetan Campus Kantipur Daily published on May 13, cadres of ANFSU threatened him to take his life. After threat, Achrya was under security of police.
Freedom forum condemns the incident and asks the concerned student group not to repeat such incident which could affect journalist's right to press freedom and people's right to get information.
