A journalist with the Anumodan daily Prakash Mishra was attacked for his reporting on March 20 in Dhangadhi. Dhangadhi lies in Sudurpaschim Province of Nepal.
According to Freedom Forum's representative for the province Min Bam, reporter Mishra was attacked over a news story. On March 17, news titled - Mysterious Gathering of Foreign Nationals in Simli Jungle of Kailali- was published in the daily in Mishra's byline.
Following this, business owners Dabal Bahadur Shah and Chet Bahadur Singh attacked reporter Mishra. Reporter Mishra received injuries in his hands.
According to representative Bam, Dabal Shah is arrested and police is searching for Chet Bahadur Singh.
Freedom Forum condemns the attack. It is violation of press freedom.
