Commander of Janatantrik Tarai Mukti Morcha-Jwaka Singh (JTMM-J) Sikandar has threatened Kapilvastu correspondent of The Himalayan Times Krishna Prasad Dhakal of life. Sikandar threatened him in connection with the publication of news regarding the donation drive of Tarai-based armed outfits including the JTMM-J, Dhakal said. Sikandar threatened Dhakal over the phone on Saturday evening and Sunday morning.
Terming this incident is utterly against journalist’s right to let people know, Freedom Forum condemns the tendency of gagging free press. The Forum demands necessary actions against the perpetrator and urges he government to come up with measures to curb such incidents being carried out against press.
