Kabikiran Neupane, Editor of Abhimat Weekly published from Chitwan, local correspondent of Dristi Weekly and Member of Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ) Chitwan was beaten up and threatened to kill by Ratnanagar municipality-10 President Rambabu Shrestha on July 8. Journalist Neupane was seriously injured after Shrestha assaulted him after they went to verbal war in course of reading Dristi Weekly at around 6 PM in the evening.
Freedom Forum condemns the incident terming it a naked attack on journalist and demands with the government to take strong actions against the guilty.
