A group of miscreants misbehaved with journalist Raju Chhetrii, a publisher and editor of "Crime Express", a daily published from Rautahat district in the southern plain of Nepal on September 26.
Following a news report published in the Daily nearly a week ago, the group mistreated journalist Chhetri using some obscene expressions.
"Miscreants did not only misbehave with me but also tried to thrash me," said journalist Kshetri.
Freedom Forum strongly condemns the incident and calls on the government to take immediate action against the perpetrators of the incident. Attempt of an attack in connection with published news report is apparently the breach of existing laws of Nepal. Freedom Forum urges the government to bring the guilty to book at the earliest to enable workable environment for journalists freely.
