Journalist Manhandled in Capital City

Freedom Forum has been concerned over an incident that took place in the Capital city, Kathmandu, on November 16, 2011.

First Vice-Chairperson of Foreign Employment Entrepreneurs' Association, Hansa Raj Wagle manhandled publisher and editor of Rojgar Khabar daily, Man Chhiring Tamang, while making news about a meeting regarding the foreign employment.

Wagle manhandled Tamang over the news Tamang wrote on foreign employment.

''In spite of seeking legal recourse over the news if it had any misinformation and bias, Wagle roughed up editor Tamang. Editor Tamang got his eye glasses broken'', said manager of the Rojgar Khabar daily, Yogendra Tamang to another national daily.

Freedom Forum urges Mr Wagle to respect the rights of journalist and seek legal measure if had any misinformation in the news.
