After eight-day-long investigation, the police have found Yuvraj Giri guilty of the murder of journalist Yadav Poudel.

It was said Yuvraj Giri, former chairman of hotelier's association in Jhapa district was to be the publisher of a newspaper with journalist Poudel as the editor.

Organizing a press meet on April 10, 2012, chief at the District Police Office, Superintendent of Police, Tarini Prasad Lamsal, said, "Our investigation has held Giri as the guilty."

As per the report, Giri pushed journalist Poudel from the third story rooftop of Hotel Purvanchal and Sekuwa Corner at Birtamod, Jhapa.

However, SP Lamsal said after arresting absconding Madan Rai would divulge more about the murder. He claimed that the investigation so far shows murder of journalist Poudel was not premeditated.

Poudel, reporter with the Rajdhani national daily and the Avenues Television from Jhapa, a district in the southern plain in the east of Nepal, was killed on the night of April 3, 2012.
