The banda (general shutdown) enforcers have been targeting media even on the third day (22 May) of the 3-day nationwide banda in Nepal.
Various incidents of press freedom violations have been recorded by the Freedom Forum with continuous updates.
The banda enforcers manhandled Tika Ram Nidhi, reporter with the Mountain Television from
Jhapa, an eastern district in the southern plain of Nepal on May 22.
Similarly, three staffs with the Mountain Television were verbally abused at Gatthaghar, Bhaktapur in the morning while being ferried to the office.
According to the Moutain TV, it has been receiving threats of attack for covering news about banda.
Freedom Forum condemns all these incidents which have violated press freedom and citizen's rights to information.
