DECEMBER 04, 2008 Freedom Forum Chairperson and senior journalist Taranath Dahal is announced to be provided with Suryabhakta-Patanadevi Adhikari Memorial National Journalism Award-2009 for his substantial contribution in the development of professional journalism as well as activism in press freedom, freedom of expression and opinion, right to information and democracy in Nepal.
The Suryabhakta-Patanadevi Adhikari Memorial Journalism Foundation has announced to present this award to journalist Dahal amid a special function to be organized in Kawaswoti of Nawalparasi on December 5, Friday.
The award instituted in memory of freedom fighter late Suryabhakta Adhikari and Ptanadevi Adhikari, locals of Gaindakot-5, Nawalparasi carries a purse of Rs. 15,101 along with copper plaque and letter of appreciation. Former Finance minister Dr. Ramsharan Mahat is scheduled to give away the award and to felicitate Dahal on the occasion.
