FNJ PRESIDNET JHA INJURED IN ROAD MISHAP

 AUGUST 20, 2008  Freedom Forum is deeply saddened over the serious injury of Federation of Nepali Journalists officials, including Chairman Dharmendra Jha, Treasurer Ramesh Bishta and Central Member Jagat Nepal in a road accident at Keshar Mahal in the capital on Monday night. The accident took place when a speeding jeep (Ba 1 Ja 9606) belonging to Yak and Yeti Hotel collided a car (Ba. 6 Cha 8883) in which FNJ officials were traveling. 

They met with accident on their way back to Kathmandu from Dhading where they wrapped up a Right to Information conference organized on the joint initiative of Freedom Forum, FNJ and ARTICLE 19 in the same day. 

In the incident, Jha’s right hand has been broken and Bishta and Nepal sustained minor injuries. Jha is undergoing medical surgery in Chawahil-based Medicare hospital. 

Freedom Forum wishes their speedy recovery and demands legal actions against the driver and jeep owner.
