FF urges for fair investigation on mysterious death of journalist Dahal

Journalist Jaya Prasad Dahal was found dead at mysterious circumstances at his own home in Biratnagar city on December 8. Biratnagar lies in Province 1.

Freedom Forum's  representative for Province 1, Bikram Niraula said, ''Dahal was found dead at his residence where gas cylinder's pipe was burnt and it was guessed the incident occurred because of external elements.''

FF also got the information that Dahal was dead already when neighbors in the next morning visited his house. He was injured around the neck and stomach, and also he was found half burnt.

Similarly, according to the Morang Police Superintendent Biswa Adhikari, ''Dahal was visiting his home town Biratnagar to sell his house and had asked the people in the rent to vacant the house.'' 'Dahal had his supper on Saturday night with the rented person Radhyeshyam Darak. Darak is now under police custody', he further added.

Earlier, 70 years old journalist Dahal was an editor of NepalKhabar dainik and Mayalu weekly.

FF strongly urges local authorities and security agencies to investigate the death of journalist Dahal fairly.
