Numbers of anti-press incidents have taken place in various parts of the country following several protest and demonstration against Vice-president-elect Parmananda Jha, taking oath of office and secrecy in Indian language on July 23. Jaank Gautam, News correspondent and Niranjul Kayestha, cameraperson of Avenues Television, were attacked by an agitating people gathered to stage protest in at Kalopool in the capital on July 27, Sunday. The journalists were subjected to attack for being late when they reached there to cover the news story.
The irate mob also vandalized journalists’ motorbike and camera in outrage.
