Freedom Forum expresses concern over the growing incidents of the violation of press freedom across the country.
Forum's attention has recently been drawn seriously towards an incident occurred in Bajura, a district in the far-western region of the country on March 1. Chief of the District Sports Committee Nrip Singh Baduwal labeled death threat on journalist Prakash Singh accusing him of covering the news about Sport Committee Office.
Journalist Singh said he was issued death threat from Sport Committee Chief Baduwal reasoning that he took a photograph of the office and inquired him about the information on sport activities.
Baduwal used indecent words against journalist Singh and threatened him of taking life if the news was published after he was asked why his office was not conducting sports activities in the district for eight months.
